Apprenticeship Scheme

Partnering with SkillCert, FIAUK offers a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative (LMO) Apprenticeship scheme.

This apprenticeship can be applied to various operational performances and can incorporate the FIAUK Academy modules to suit individual requirements. Companies are also able to draw down on the new apprenticeship levy fund.

Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship

(LMO) level 2

The Lean Manufacturing Operative (LMO) level 2 apprenticeship is a nationally recognised qualification and is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge, skills and behaviour to enable them to carry out manufacturing activities on multiple products with different specifications consecutively.

The qualification is suitable for new or existing employees of businesses within the sector range from small family run manufacturing operations to large multi-national companies.

This qualification benefits employers by demonstrating the quality of a workforce to existing and potential customers, as well as maintaining employee morale and motivation. Employees benefit from acquiring the evidence base for potential progression and career development in the industry.

The recommended time for completion of the apprenticeship framework is 13 months.

Delivery includes a combination of classroom-based delivery, on the job assessment and project driven activities. All delivery takes place at the candidates place of work and FIAUK modules can be used in the progress of the apprenticeship to boost learning.

FIAUK members can draw down on the Apprenticeship Levy to fund their apprenticeship training

The Apprenticeship Levy was introduced in April 2017 in the UK for companies with wage bills over £3 million. They pay a levy of 0.5% of the bill through PAYE to fund apprenticeship schemes.

All companies are then able to draw down on this levy to fund apprenticeship training programmes, as long as they provide 10% of the costs.

FIAUK has partnered with SkillCert to offer LMO Level 2, which is a nationally recognised qualification and incorporates the Academy training modules.
